Frequently Asked Questions

Content

Q. How are topics chosen for the journal?
A.
The editorial advisory board recommends topics in the form of a needs assessment, based on literature searches, readers’ responses on evaluation forms, and input based on current interest and common practice problems faced by primary care practitioners. Subscriber suggestions for topics of interest are welcome.

Q. How are faculty/contributors selected?
A.
Excerpta Medica’s worldwide involvement with thought leaders provides a basis for identifying expert faculty in particular topical areas. The journal editor chooses a guest editor based on these recommendations. Once the guest editor is selected for a topic, he or she works with the journal editor to select contributing authors who can provide the expertise to bridge the gap between the specialist and the primary care practitioner.

Q. What is the purpose of the Dialogue Box?
A.
The Dialogue Box provides an opportunity for the editorial advisory board to ask questions related to individual articles that may not have been part of the article but are deemed of interest to the practice of primary care physicians.
